hDrop Is Coming to Wahoo ELEMNT Cycling Computers

Hydration is becoming a real-time performance metric.

hDrop is excited to announce an upcoming integration with Wahoo ELEMNT GPS cycling computers, bringing real-time sweat and hydration data directly to the handlebar.

Once available (expected end of June 2026), compatible Wahoo ELEMNT V3 users will be able to view hDrop data directly on their head unit during training and racing, alongside the ride metrics they already rely on, including power, heart rate, cadence, speed, and distance.

The integration is expected to arrive through a Wahoo firmware update rolling out in the coming weeks.

Real-Time Hydration Data on the Handlebar

Cyclists already use real-time data to guide pacing, intensity, and race strategy. Power tells you how hard you are pushing. Heart rate shows how your body is responding. Cadence, speed, and elevation help you understand the demands of the ride.

Hydration has traditionally been different.

Most riders rely on a pre-planned hydration strategy, general guidelines, or post-ride analysis. But sweat rate and sodium loss can change significantly depending on the athlete, intensity, heat, humidity, altitude, clothing, and workout duration.

That means your hydration needs during a cool endurance ride may be very different from your needs during a hot race, indoor training session, or long climb. This integration comes in handy for all your training sessions, allowing you to fine tune your strategy live, and prepare the best hydration plan for your races.

With hDrop coming to Wahoo ELEMNT cycling computers, riders will soon be able to see sweat and hydration insights in real time, directly where they already monitor their performance.

What hDrop Measures

hDrop is a reusable sweat biosensor designed to help athletes better understand their hydration needs during exercise.

During an activity, hDrop analyzes sweat and provides insights such as:

Sweat rate
Fluid loss
Sodium loss
Hydration trends

This gives athletes a more personalized view of what they are losing during training and racing, helping them move beyond static hydration plans and toward data-driven decisions.

Why the Wahoo Integration Matters

The upcoming Wahoo integration brings hDrop data to the place cyclists already look most: the head unit.

Instead of relying only on the hDrop App during or after a ride, Wahoo ELEMNT users will be able to view hydration data directly on compatible ELEMNT cycling computers.

This means riders can make more informed decisions during the activity, including when to drink, how much to drink, and when sodium replacement may matter.

For endurance athletes, this is especially important. Dehydration and sodium losses can contribute to declining performance, increased perceived effort, and poor execution during long or hot sessions. Having real-time hydration data available during the ride helps athletes respond earlier instead of waiting until after performance is already affected.

Compatible Wahoo ELEMNT Devices

The upcoming integration is expected to support Wahoo ELEMNT V3 cycling computers, including:

ELEMNT BOLT 3
ELEMNT ROAM 3
ELEMNT ACE

No new head unit is required for existing compatible ELEMNT V3 users. Once the update becomes available, users will receive it through Wahoo’s firmware update process.

How hDrop Fits Into Your Existing Cycling Setup

hDrop connects via Bluetooth and is designed to fit into the setup athletes already use.

The sensor can be worn on the upper arm with a bicep strap or mounted to a standard heart rate chest strap. This makes it easy to add sweat and hydration monitoring without changing the core structure of your cycling kit.

Once the Wahoo integration becomes available, hDrop data will appear alongside the rest of your ride metrics on compatible ELEMNT devices.

A New Layer of Performance Data

“With this integration, Wahoo users will be able to see hDrop data in real time during their activities, directly on their ELEMNT cycling computer,” said Adria Abella, Co-Founder of hDrop. “We have been working closely with the Wahoo team to make this possible, and we are excited to bring highly accurate, real-time sweat and hydration analytics to more athletes in a way that fits naturally into how they already train and race. Very excited to bring a new data layer to Wahoo’s users.”

The upcoming integration represents an important step for hDrop and for real-time hydration monitoring in endurance sports.

Cyclists have long had access to real-time mechanical and physiological data. Now, hydration data is moving closer to that same standard.

Coming Soon

The hDrop integration with Wahoo ELEMNT cycling computers is expected to roll out in the coming weeks through a Wahoo firmware update.

Once available, compatible Wahoo ELEMNT V3 users will be able to bring real-time sweat and hydration data directly to the handlebar. We will add all integration instructions on our website and app to make it easy for all hDrop users that would like to see live data on their Wahoo devices.

Hydration is not just something to review after the ride anymore. With hDrop and Wahoo, it is becoming part of the ride itself.
